It is our pleasure to host support group meetings, health/wellness classes, and education seminars on site. Please see a list of our services listed below.
Sit Down or Stand Up - It's Time to Get Fit!
An Exercise Class Taught by Clinical Therapist & Personal Trainer Michael Allen
Target neurological disability and the effects of aging with exercise! With the option of seated or standing classes, clinical therapist and personal trainer Michael Allen will help you to increase strength, improve balance, and ease joint pain over the course of 4 weeks. These free classes include work with exercise balls, light free weights, and exercise bands. Starting April 11th, classes will occur every Wednesday at the following times:
Chair Exercise: 1:00pm-2:00pm
Standing Exercise: 2:30pm-3:30pm
About Michael Allen
Exercise and wellness have always been a driving factor in Michael’s life. From his time playing basketball for Pepperdine University, to his over 30 years of work experience as a Clinical therapist, Michael has used his love of exercise to encourage others to grow. His passion for fitness is only matched by his dedication to the MS community. Whether you are seated or standing, Michael’s contagious positivity is sure to get you moving!
Lifestyle Changes That Impact Alzheimer's
A Lecture Series
It is time to take back control over yours or a loved-one’s Alzheimer’s. Over the course of this lecture series Clinical Pharmacist Keith Likes will provide you with the information to do just that! Dr. Likes pulls from the latest Alzheimer’s research to teach us how changes to lifestyle behaviors such as dietary habits, intake of vitamins/minerals, and exercise can help in combating the disease. The series will commence on March 21st at 10am.
About Dr. Likes:
Keith Likes is a pharmacologist, toxicologist, and clinical pharmacist who has produced multiple drug therapeutics publications and toxicology manuscripts. Dr. Like also has past teaching experience as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine where he was also Co-Director of Drug Information and Poison Control. As well as spending time as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine where he was also Director of Drug Information and Poison Control.
A Recipe for Conversation
A group for caregivers and their loved ones that features guest speakers biweekly. The weeks in between speakers are A Recipe for Conversation, where themed meetings allow attendees to socialize as well as share and discuss life with Alzheimer’s disease. Sessions are offered to patient and caregiver, with the opportunity to meet separately should the desire be expressed. Meetings are held every Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. Refreshments are provided.
LIVING LIFE: SHARING STORIES
Whether you or a loved one has Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, or any other neurological disability, this conversation is for you! Recognizing that each diagnosis comes with its own challenges, this group session allows for people to come together and learn from the unique experiences of others. Come to listen, vent about frustrations, or just enjoy good conversation with a nice group of people! This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 9:30-11am.
ACTIVE LIFESTYLES WITH CHRONIC CONDITIONS
Focusing on activities, speakers, and education, this group will provide you with the tools you need to live an active & healthy lifestyle while managing your diagnosis. Meetings will also designate time for group discussions to help form a strong support network. Open to any neurological disability, this group meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm.
